BMO Presents 18th Annual Walk so Kids Can Talk Supporting Young People Across Canada
Posted on May 2, 2019 by Brad McCabe

Kids Help Phone's Walk so Kids Can Talk presented by BMO is back for another year of fundraising and awareness. The annual Walk is scheduled to take place on May 5 in 36 communities across the country.

Each year, thousands of kids, adults, schools, community organizations, and corporations come together to take part in Canada's largest walk in support of emotional health and well-being for young people. Last year, more than 8,500 BMO walkers raised more than $1.9 million for Kids Help Phone.

"At BMO, we have a legacy of giving back. We have been a proud sponsor for Kids Help Phone's Walk so Kids Can Talkfor almost two decades," said Daniel Barclay, Chief Executive Officer & Group Head, BMO Capital Markets and National Walk Co-Champion. "Kids Help Phone is a tremendous organization that makes a difference in young Canadians' lives every day, by ensuring they have allies and the resources for support they need when reaching out for help."

"As the trusted resource for young people in Canada, Kids Help Phone tirelessly works to ensure that our service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week," said Katherine Hay, President & CEO, Kids Help Phone. "It is because of the extraordinary support and tenacity from BMO that we are able to mobilize this country to ensure that our kids can access the service, when they need it most."

Kids Help Phone is Canada's only 24/7 national service offering professional counselling, information and referrals, and volunteer-led text based support for young people. Its free, anonymous, and confidential services are available in both English and French. The donations raised from the Walk are crucial to maintaining this valuable service and ensuring every young person can access the support they need, in the way they need it most.
