Dreamhack Renews Headline Sponsorship Deal with Bell for Montréal Festival

Esports event organiser DreamHack  Canada has renewed its partnership with telecom provider Bell for the third year in a row. Both will be headline partners of DreamHack Montréal 2018. Due to be held September 7-9 at the Olympic Stadium, the event will feature over ten different esports tournaments, plus a wide raft of exhibitors from the gaming industry.

“Bell has been one of our key partners since the first DreamHack event held in Canada,” commented Simon Marin, president of DreamHack Canada. “They share our vision to constantly elevate the gaming experience at our events for attendees, and we are honoured to count on their support for a third consecutive year.”

Bell Fiber Internet will also be powering a Fortnite Freeplay Area as part of the overall DreamExpo.

Upcoming competitions planned for the festival include Starcraft II Counter-Strike: Global Offensive League of Legends Hearthstone Super Smash Bros.  and Street Fighter V .  Prize pools will vary depending on the title, with the CS:GO andStarcraft II tournaments offerings topping $100K each.

Rainbow Six has been added to this year’s event, due to popular local demand (the game was developed by Ubisoft Montreal). DreamHack Montreal will secure a spot for the tournament’s champions at the upcoming Six Invitational 2019.

Globally, DreamHack has announced several sponsorship deals this year: including New Belgium Brewing for the DreamHack Open in Austin, and clean energy company Fortum for the Corsair DreamHack Masters in Stockholm. The company has also signed event partnerships with Hi-Rez Studios, and The Esports Observer.

DreamHack was founded in 1994, hosting local area network (LAN) gatherings in Sweden. The company has expanded into various other gaming avenues, including, esports, and continues ot add more events outside Europe, with DreamHack Montréal now reaching its third year. There will be another festival taking place in Atlanta, Georgia this November.
